History of the Waterloo Busker Carnival: 1990 - Year 2

On August 19th, 1990, the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 100th anniversary with a party at Waterloo Park because the park was also 100 years old a result of the chambers efforts. In addition to a parade that ran from King and Allen into the park, there were games in the afternoon typical of a century prior including croquet and 3-legged races. Of course, there was a birthday cake, music, dancing, and a celebrity box lunch auction.

Then, from Tuesday, August 21st to Sunday, August 26th, the 1990 Waterloo Busker Carnival closed down King Street from William Street to Erb Street East. There were 6 days of busker activity including Playing with Fire on Tuesday night featuring fire performers at Jester Court (King and Herbert), UpTown VIP Juggling Contest on Weds morning, Kids Day on Weds with busker treats and face painting, and Waterloo Town Square Day with free popcorn and face painting.
